Turning on and off the lights in a room requires a switch. Through a more technical description, a switch interrupts an electrical circuit. Referring to the light scenario switches can either fully activate or fully deactivate an electronic signal. There are many types of electric component switches varying from pushbutton switches, selector switches, and joystick switches. Though there are many distinct types of switches we can drill down to three broad categories of switches. Hand switches are operated by human touch (i.e. light switch). Limit switches are automated by machines (i.e. switches in the TV when something specific is accessed). Lastly, process switches are used when electronics need a change during a process; like how a thermostat automatically adjusts to the held temperature.
